I’m Leani Al-Midani, a high school student, athlete, and the founder of PlayReady First Aid for HS sports. I’m a rising sophomore at the Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles, with a strong interest in biology, health, and student safety.
As a competitive tennis player and a first aid–qualified student, I’ve seen injuries happen on the court more times than I can count. What stood out to me wasn’t just the injuries themselves, but how often the people closest to the situation (including the athletes) weren’t sure how to respond in those first critical moments, that can have effect recovery time by weeks. Even common injuries were sometimes met with uncertainty rather than preparedness.
Those experiences made me realize how important first aid readiness is in high school sports, and how often it’s overlooked. I co-founded a First Aid Club at my school to help students understand the value of basic first aid knowledge and to encourage peers to become certified.
I created PlayReady HS First Aid to help high school athletic communities feel more prepared and more confident when injuries happen.
My goal is to make safety a clear, practical part of every practice, game, and season, so when something goes wrong, the response is calm, informed, and immediate.
